NicoleNorthwestern, Fellow '24The drawing techniques we practiced have not only improved my ability to visually communicate complex ideas but also enhanced my overall understanding of anatomy and pathology. It's one thing to learn about a condition in a textbook, but being able to draw it out really solidified my knowledge in a way that traditional studying methods often don't.
WilliamUniversity of South Carolina, Fellow '23As a shadowing student at my local hospital this summer I was able to see 3 of the lessons in person. I thought this was extremely beneficial as I was able to communicate with the surgeons on a professional level and understand what was going on. In doing so, I was able to ask more in-depth questions that were more relevant to the surgeries rather than “basic” anatomical ones.
SashaHarvard, Fellow '23I came away with exposure to new pathologies and procedures. Overall, I appreciated how this fellowship showed me how useful digital drawing can be in medicine.
GillianTulane, Fellow '26I couldn't say enough good things about this Fellowship!! I am so grateful for the skills I obtained participating in these modules. I am super excited to apply these skills to my academic and professional future careers.
AnushaUniversity of South Carolina, Fellow '23The biggest thing for me was breaking the stigma that in order to draw, you must be a perfect artist. I had no prior experience with art, but I felt as though with this fellowship, I gained an ability to draw any medical process or treatment that I may encounter in my professional career.
DrinaVanderbilt, Fellow '23This was a great way to not only build skills that are useful for studying but a cool way to learn about procedures in different fields of medicine as someone who wants to be a surgeon in the future but doesn't know exactly what specialty.
